BLASTS, Bringing Light And Sight To Society. That was Kirk's dream in 1990. Kind of started an airport, where I'm writing this. God spoke to him and said, you know, Kirk, I want you to take a bunch of kids all over the world, wherever I tell you, to bring light and sight to society. Airports are a familiar place for this ministry, because Kirk takes kids all over the world. It's interesting how it, works. You know, he doesn't ask people, hey, do you want to go? God speaks to Kirk and says I want you to ask that person so Kirk will roll up in his wheelchair and say to a young man or woman you should go on this trip with me and that's how it all begins. The vision of BLASTS is to help the local church. Not local meaning here but local wherever God tells us to go. For example we went to Long Island, Bahamas and there was a church called Salt Pond Assemblies of God. Great people but they had no youth ministry and three months later, yeah we were there three months, Kirk was able to establish not just a youth ministry team but over 200 kids coming every Friday night to an outreach we did on that island. That's one example of the vision of what BLASTS does. We partner with the local church, and help establish leaders. Up until 2008 BLASTS was fully funded through Kirk alone and then the economy took a downturn. But what happened is interesting. Not only did our finances go down, but the vision went up. And here we are today looking to expand and go worldwide, even greater. We got a word and mandate from the Lord to go global with BLASTS. But it's not gonna be done just by Kirk or his finances alone. It's just not possible. Now it's time for us all to join together and sow into something that can make a difference, not just in your community, but in every community across this globe.
